I am a tortured soul
blowing away in the wind
Torn between the currents
Fighting to find a path
But in the wind's grasp
you fight first for your survival
second for your sanity
third for your search of beauty
In the wind's grasp
you will be beaten
you will be damaged
But in the wind's grasp
you can look out
above the trees
across the mountains
and down the valleys
In the wind's grasp
you may be scattered
you may be broken
but you will once again be whole
In the wind's grasp
you must learn to let go
you must turn in the reigns
you must learn to just be
At that point
the wind will free you
to float upon it
and you will bathe
in the beauty
that once tortured you
You will drift
and you will smile
and once again
you will breathe easy

Still
I can feel my head throbbing
in the madness of my life.
Still as I may sit
my heart still pumps
my blood keeps moving
my head still throbs.
I can feel my head spinning
when I'm standing in the strife
Much as I keep moving
my feet feel pinned
my eyes keep blurring
my head still spins
I can feel my body tensing
each word is like a knife
Forget kind thinking
my heart still burns
I am still lonely
when will be my turn?
in the madness of my life.
Still as I may sit
my heart still pumps
my blood keeps moving
my head still throbs.
I can feel my head spinning
when I'm standing in the strife
Much as I keep moving
my feet feel pinned
my eyes keep blurring
my head still spins
I can feel my body tensing
each word is like a knife
Forget kind thinking
my heart still burns
I am still lonely
when will be my turn?

Country
"He died defending his country!"
On foreign land
with a gun in hand
he was fighting to kill people he never knew.
Where is the purpose, the pride and the beauty
in a death from another mans fight

Where is the purpose, the pride and the beauty

Fate
I cry for the fate of humanity
the only hope of change lies in the ability for all people to unite and think clearly
People are blind to the opportunities for change that are in every move we have ever made
we are a race fated to our own failure
to our own extinction
We are a race of fools
chasing the things that hold us back
the only hope of change lies in the ability for all people to unite and think clearly
People are blind to the opportunities for change that are in every move we have ever made
we are a race fated to our own failure
to our own extinction
We are a race of fools
chasing the things that hold us back

Do not worry
Do not think about what was
or worry about what can be.
Focus on what is now my dear,
what is now is me

Loops
I am caught in a loop, a loop of awful things
of awful pains
of awful suffering
A loop that brings every thought to the same experience
an experience none should have
Each thought leaves with the same images
with the same feelings
with the same hurt
With less acceptance
and less faith
and less control
I am here
Rocking
Lulling myself into music that won't shake me
speaking words I will soon regret
regardless of the commitments of the tomorrow
I am here
Alone in a loop I thought I'd left behind
of awful pains
of awful suffering
A loop that brings every thought to the same experience
an experience none should have
Each thought leaves with the same images
with the same feelings
with the same hurt
With less acceptance
and less faith
and less control
I am here
Rocking
Lulling myself into music that won't shake me
speaking words I will soon regret
regardless of the commitments of the tomorrow
I am here
Alone in a loop I thought I'd left behind

Your own
You have to realise that in your life, you have to put yourself first.
Don't expect anyone else to because each person has their own life to live.
The only constant thing about your entire life is that it is Yours
You are the only one to live it so it's you that you need to look after.
Put yourself first.
It's not selfish, it's essential.
Don't expect anyone else to because each person has their own life to live.

Here's to The Crazy Ones, The Misfits, The Rebels
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
Jack Kerouac

I am but me
I am but me, I'm no one else
I'm part of no collection, don't put me on a shelf
I am but me, I'm no one else
Don't ask me to change, I can only be myself
I'm part of no collection, don't put me on a shelf
I am but me, I'm no one else
Don't ask me to change, I can only be myself

Conflict
I shrink back from the fighting of my inner self
Conflict holds no happiness, no warm possibilities
I run from conflict
But there is conflict in my soul.
The selfless is truly selfless, the selfish just wishes a few things from me
The selfish withing, she is not truely selfish. She is balanced
But she is heavily outweighed by the selfless as she fights for everything I have ever believed in
She fights for great things. She fights for equality of all people, for the safety of every child
She is me, but alas I am human too.
Every human has a heart, every human needs love
The selfless would sacrifice everything I have ever had to achieve my dreams
but the selfish longs for love along with it.
I am conflicted, I wish someday to have both
Conflict holds no happiness, no warm possibilities

Minority
As you are reading this, from your first world country
I want you to stop and think, I want you to realise that it is We who are the minority.
It is we with easy access to means of communication, to cellphones, to internet
We with soap, toothpaste and clean water
We with full stomachs and warm houses
It is we with easy access to health care
who are the minority.
What do you do with your spare cash? Do you throw it away on food you don't need, don't finish?
Do you spend it on a toy you know you will never play with?
Do you buy designer clothes you could get for a normal price in the other store, just for something as silly as a label?
That 5 dollars could buy 5 kilos of fruit in Vietnam.
It could buy hundreds of pens for less fortunate children to learn with.
That 5 dollars could help bring clean water to a community in need,
There are so many better things we could do with that 5 dollar note
and if we, the minority, all just gave a few dollars, perhaps poverty could begin to cease

Dear world
Dear world
please inspire me to believe you are good again
please convince me there are lots of good people
please show me I mean something
please remind me to be happy
please don't leave me on my own again
please do not force me to hide
is it truely cold outside
or is it just cold to me
please inspire me to believe you are good again

please show me I mean something

Future
Whatever does the future hold?
If to find out, we must grow old.
In every turn and every fold
we must be strong, we must be bold.
What things will, in future, be?
Will my life be full and free?
Will you still be here with me?
As we grow old, perhaps we'll see
If to find out, we must grow old.
In every turn and every fold
we must be strong, we must be bold.
What things will, in future, be?
Will my life be full and free?
Will you still be here with me?
As we grow old, perhaps we'll see

Two
Welcome to the glorious minefield of Love
where safety is none but a myth
Find one with whom you wish to be
and tread softly on your trip
There is no clear beginning
we hope there is no end
Watch the ground you walk on
not for many, do active bombs bend
If you wish to walk the minefield
be mindful of all you do
what you say, how you act, its all counts now
you are not just one, but a part of two
where safety is none but a myth
Find one with whom you wish to be
and tread softly on your trip
There is no clear beginning
we hope there is no end
Watch the ground you walk on
not for many, do active bombs bend
If you wish to walk the minefield
be mindful of all you do
what you say, how you act, its all counts now
you are not just one, but a part of two
My heart
If I put my heart in your hands
will you cherish it, will you love it?
Will you keep it soft and warm,
will you nurture it ever onward?
If I put my heart in your hands
will my heart then be fulfilled?
Will my life get only better,
will I flourish, will I bloom?
will you cherish it, will you love it?
Will you keep it soft and warm,
will you nurture it ever onward?
If I put my heart in your hands
will my heart then be fulfilled?
Will my life get only better,
will I flourish, will I bloom?

NegaSelf
NegaSelf: The pessimistic, over-reactive defense mechanism I have obtained.
Activates under: Stress or threat, of medium or strong degree. Sometimes appears at mild levels.
Effects: Negative thoughts of disbelief and self-hate that lead to the isolation of the self and shutting of one's face.

Human
What is there left to believe in when all you can hear are sirens
drowning out the chirping of birds
wind whipping at all that wishes to stand
and challenging all that thinks it has a purpose
Where are we to go when our homes are broken
when all we ever thought we had is taken away
where are we to go with no light to guide us
walking blind in the dark and eternal night that is our life
Who are we to lean on when there's no one to see
when everyone is too frightened, too petrified to speak
if all people cower in the corners of the darkness
what is the point of being human at all
drowning out the chirping of birds
wind whipping at all that wishes to stand
and challenging all that thinks it has a purpose
Where are we to go when our homes are broken
when all we ever thought we had is taken away
where are we to go with no light to guide us

Compassion
Open your eyes and see the world before you
See the suffering and the pain in the eyes of others
See the bones through the skin of the starving child
See disease spread through cities like rapid fire
Open your heart to the wounded
Bring them back to health
I am a creature of compassion
Let love be all your wealth
See the suffering and the pain in the eyes of others
See the bones through the skin of the starving child
See disease spread through cities like rapid fire
Open your heart to the wounded
Bring them back to health
I am a creature of compassion
Let love be all your wealth

The best of me
We must be the best "me" we can be
Change starts with us and life is so precious
Love and be loved
smell the flowers in spring
Be all that you are
Regret not a thing
Change starts with us and life is so precious
Love and be loved
smell the flowers in spring
Be all that you are
Regret not a thing
Change
To change the world would not be so hard if each and every human would look towards themselves.
As was once said, "We must be the change we wish to see in the world" and there really isn't a better way to say it.
Be the change you wish to say, be the example, be the role model.
Show the world how you think it should be done and do it filled with kindness.
The world wouldn't be so hard to change
If only we'd all pitch in.

Experience
Strange how experience shapes us
How it shows us things we know not
Funny how much it can change us
How it can help us grow, or help us rot
It can make us a better person
It can make us bitter at heart
It can make us fragile and timid
But always different than at the start
How it shows us things we know not
Funny how much it can change us
How it can help us grow, or help us rot
It can make us a better person
It can make us bitter at heart
It can make us fragile and timid
But always different than at the start
