As you are reading this, from your first world country
I want you to stop and think, I want you to realise that it is We who are the minority.
It is we with easy access to means of communication, to cellphones, to internet
We with soap, toothpaste and clean water
We with full stomachs and warm houses
It is we with easy access to health care
who are the minority.
What do you do with your spare cash? Do you throw it away on food you don't need, don't finish?
Do you spend it on a toy you know you will never play with?
Do you buy designer clothes you could get for a normal price in the other store, just for something as silly as a label?
That 5 dollars could buy 5 kilos of fruit in Vietnam.
It could buy hundreds of pens for less fortunate children to learn with.
That 5 dollars could help bring clean water to a community in need,
There are so many better things we could do with that 5 dollar note
and if we, the minority, all just gave a few dollars, perhaps poverty could begin to cease
