No Nations

"There are no nations! There is only humanity. And if we don't come to understand that right soon, there will be no nations, because there will be no humanity."

Swimming

I'm going swimming in a sea of my own
a sea of few people, of cold hearted stone
I'm going diving in the depth of the deep
where the pressure is crushing and the little lights sleep
I'm going searching in corners of rocks
for my hopes and my dreams that got lost on the docks
And I am collecting the hope and the love
I'm taking it with me to blue skies above

Alas I arise to a sky of black night
But it's littered with twinkles, my glorious lights
Each one is beaming with life in its eye
This night is no danger - my hope's in the sky
My cold hearted ocean had little for me
but to test my resilience til light did I see
You'll not find your happiness down underneath
You must look up above you, if hope do you seek

Random Acts of Kindness

“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”

Embrace your time

Where will the future take us?
Nobody really knows.
If only one thing is certain,
Its that our time comes and goes.

So live, love and learn to embrace it
find your way down your path
Reach for the heavens above you
And never forget to laugh

- A combined effort of myself and a person very close to me

Fruits That Grow in Vulnerability

There is a great difference between successfulness and fruitfulness. Success comes from strength, control, and respectability. A successful person has the energy to create something, to keep control over its development, and to make it available in large quantities. Success brings many rewards and often fame.
Fruits, however, come from weakness and vulnerability. And fruits are unique. A child is the fruit conceived in vulnerability, community is the fruit born through shared brokenness, and intimacy is the fruit that grows through touching one another's wounds. Let's remind one another that what brings us true joy is not successfulness but fruitfulness.

Bullies

I am my own big bully
My own cruelest voice
The voice may well be folly
but it fights against each choice.
Every act's a burden
Every move is wrong
Decisions - always painful
I never shall belong
For I'm my greatest critic
With ever threatening force
You will not hear me speaking
But my silence brings remorse

A new year

A new year, a new day
I'm wasting my time away
Each moment, each minute
My time here is finite.
Alas I am wasting,
Few risks I am taking,
Alone I am laying
Not working, Nor playing.
A new year, a new day
I'll waste all my time away
Alone in my madness
my numbness, my sadness
